The Philippines is the fifth most mineral-rich country in the world for gold, nickel, copper, and chromite.  The Tampakan copper-gold mine,  located in the Southern Philippines, is the largest undeveloped copper-gold resource in the South-East Asia Western-Pacific region. The Philippines’ Mines and Geosciences Bureau has estimated that the country has an US$840 billion worth of untapped mineral wealth.  Resource reporting in the Philippines is carried out using the Philippine Mining Reporting Code.
