Key mining Legislation of China


China is the world's leading producer of coal, gold, and most rare earth minerals. However, the country has limited resources for certain commodities, such as high-quality metallurgical coal and nickel. Historically, China’s mining sector has been fragmented, however the Government in recent years the Government has encouraged consolidation to improve efficiency, safety and environmental compliance.  China’s mineral resource and reserve classification system is in the process of being revised to be more in-line with international standards.
